These hooks are mainly used for fixing the leg wraps.

You can sew the hooks on the leg wraps, wrap. One end is folded in the middle at the corners to form a triangle (like the bottom of a tie).

The hook is then sewn onto this created tip.

Another option is to sew the hook to a thin card or scallop. These are very common, cross-tying wraps even on illuminations. We also like the idea of using the hook instead of a buckle on a thin leather strap and then sticking the hook into a hole in the belt, which then serves as a garter.

We have reports of similar hooks being found around Europe and placed in graves not only in the knee area but also on the bag or in the shoulder, chest and head area. Therefore, and from experience, we believe that such hooks were a very practical item and were not tied, like belt buckles for example, to a particular part of the body or just one function... They could be used to fasten various types of textiles, caftans, bags, coats and so on.
