Torquis in Latin means to twist. These necklaces are often twisted. Gold, silver, bronze, iron and other metals were used to make them. At the same time, one can find richly decorated ones, sometimes plain, with a lock, hooks and crossed ends. Our type is put on like a horseshoe.
