A very successful copy of the Viking medallion in the artistic style of Borre, 10th century.
The original found in Norway - Skeimo site, was made of gilded copper alloy. The same or very similar pendants were made of copper alloys, silver and gold and are found throughout Scandinavia, England, Russia and the Baltics (eg Vårby and Träslöv - Sweden, Little Snoring - England, Haithabu - Germany, Gnezdovo - Russia .. .) This indicates their popularity.
Borre's style is characterized by animal and figural motifs, which are intertwined and often humorously strangle or hold themselves. This also points to the sense of humor of the Viking craftsmen who created these ornaments.
