The nib writes, the flat decorated side erases!
Wax tablets were mainly used for writing and then erasing short-term texts. We have known them since Antiquity, through the early Middle Ages, and they also played a role in the High and Late Middle Ages. You simply scratch the text, with the flat side you can erase it, wipe it, or melt the wax. However, these pens were also found in Great Moravia, for example in Mikulčice.
How many people learned to write Latin, runes and Glagolitic letters thanks to this accessory of the right reenactor!
