Veronika Pilná, CLOTHING IN WESTERN CZECH 15th - 17th CENTURIES
Just as the concept of microhistory stands alongside general 'big' histories, so everyday garments observed in one locality across social classes can stand alongside 'big' histories of fashion. By examining local monuments, archaeological material and textual sources, the author has attempted to capture the changes in clothing in the area of western Bohemia between the 15th and 17th centuries and to apply the methods of historical anthropology to the research material. The book also includes descriptions of the historical textile techniques used, textile materials and a comprehensive catalogue of cited objects and iconography.
