The feeling that luck or gods is with us is still desirable, even though we have already heard about some mathematical probability :)

What is certain is that the cubes have been entertaining people for several thousand years, and it doesn't matter if they were made of bone, antler, clay, ivory or marble and did not have to have the exact shape of a cube at all. Even today's distribution of the value of the cube (today the sum of the opposite sides is 7 - 6 against 1, 5 against 2 ..).

Did you know that gambling was so widespread in Norway in the Middle Ages that it was banned by the authorities at the time? The law of the 13th century even allowed royal officials to confiscate money at the tables and charge each player a fine of half a mark or 107 grams of silver.
